The European Central Bank (ECB) has published a document that officially confirms that the TIBER-EU framework can be used to fulfil the DORA TLPT requirements that will come into effect on the 17th of January 2025.
This officially confirms, like I also pointed out in earlier blogs, that TIBER-EU is compatible with the requirements of DORA TLPT. This is because DORA has been written “in accordance with the TIBER-EU framework“.
“The TIBER-EU framework may be seen as a handbook on how to complete DORA TLPT in a qualitative, controlled and safe manner – one which is uniform throughout the EU.“
The small process differences, that I highlighted in my blog on the DORA TLPT consultation version, will be updated in the TIBER-EU framework soon. This new version will be completely compatible with DORA TLPT and include for example mandatory purple teaming.
Any European financial supervisory authority that will be a TLPT authority under DORA can therefore use the TIBER-EU Framework to guide and manage the TLPT tests within their jurisdiction. In preparation for the 17th of January 2025 authorities can already start to implement the TIBER-EU framework if they have not done so already.
Financial entities that have to do TLPT under DORA can already use the TIBER-EU documentation to prepare for the upcoming TLPT tests when they have not performed any TIBER tests until now.
If you need assistance with adopting the TIBER-EU framework or TLPT testing feel free to contact me! I have supported many countries and entities in this process.
